Fits well, doesn’t roll down at the waist, comfortable, and kept me warm while snow tubing
Thank you Under Armour for having an option that is not a high rise! I bought these to replace my old UA base layer pants (which lasted me over 10 years). I specifically chose these over the other base layer options because they were a mid-rise, not a high-rise. I do not have curvy hips, so high-rise is very difficult for me to wear and stay up. I haven't tried them in the cold yet (we got a warm spell just when they arrived), but I am confident they will serve their purpose. They are a little baggy around the knees and ankles, but all form-fitted pants are like that on me. I also appreciate that they are long enough to cover my ankles with material to spare (this is evident on the model in the photo as well). Overall happy with my purchase so far!
Everything is perfect about these pants for base layers, except the low cut waist. I really wish they sat higher like UA leggings. I use these as base layers under pants and jeans. Wore them once during a race when I got warm and took off top layers. No issues, but the low waist makes me feel like they should remain base layers.
We do not have specific temperature ratings for our gear, but ColdGear®, in general, is best for temperatures 0 to 55 degrees F. Either would be a great option, but please check out our guide to ColdGear® ratings below as well. 2.0 is for cold weather with heavy activity. 3.0 is colder weather with moderate to light activity. 4.0 is for very cold weather with little-to-no activity. ColdGear keeps you warm in cold weather, but does not factor in your activity level.
The Women's ColdGear® Base 3.0 Leggings are intended for very cold weather during moderate activity levels. The Women's UA Tactical ColdGear® Infrared Base Leggings are designed to be a lightweight, non-bulky option since the thermo-conductive inner coating helps to absorb & retain body heat.
These leggings feature our ColdGear Infrared® technology which is designed to trap the heat generated while working out in cold conditions. In comparison, the UA Base 4.0 is built for extreme cold weather and lower activity.
